Why Should You Trust Me?

I am Wayne Liew, a Malaysian who have been staying in Kuala Lumpur for more than 10 years.

As a local, PWTC is a venue that I have visited multiple times for conferences, exhibitions and sometimes even race bib collection for major marathons in the city.

I know the area very well, and because of that, I can verify claims made by certain hotels that their location is within close proximity to train stations or attractions.

To produce this guide, I have scoured major hotel booking websites that I have used in the past to summarize recent experiences of guests who have stayed in these hotels. The hotels in this list must have at least 100 reviews across all the booking websites, and the average score must be at least 3.5 stars out of 5 or its equivalent.

Also, I have friends who stayed in the area around PWTC Kuala Lumpur when they came for a holiday. Since I had the opportunity to hang out with them when they were here, I heard many opinions about the hotels they were staying in. These opinions are useful for me to corroborate with what I gathered from hotel booking websites.

This guide is not sponsored by any hotels featured in this guide at all. If you make a booking after clicking on any of the links below, this website earns a commission from the hotel booking websites at no extra costs to you. You are free to choose any website to place the booking of your hotel rooms.

At first glance, the interior of Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur can seem a little aged as compared to Sunway Putra Hotel. Even so, it is still one of the best hotels around the area. Its lower room price might appeal to you too.

Located just beside Putra World Trade Center, guests do not have to walk far if they are going to an event held at the convention center. Business travelers who stayed at this hotel love its clean and big rooms, which comes with a work desk. The critical thing that dampened their experience is the poor Wi-Fi connection that keeps disconnecting itself.

The windows of some rooms are not clean.
The interior in some rooms is a little aged.

The hotel is next to Putra Mall. The Putra KTM Station is also within walking distance and takes 2 minutes to reach. Guests didn’t feel safe about the surroundings of the hotel at night.
Slow check-in process.

We really enjoyed this place. For the price, you get everything you would expect and more. Our room overlooked KL and what a view. To top it off, the rooftop pool is fabulous. Staffs are super helpful, and they will arrange taxis for a good price. Thanks WP hotel. I will be staying again! – Rachel

Despite the cheap price tag it has for rooms, many guests who stayed here left positive reviews about it. For its price, the rooms are big and comfortable. Not only that, it is the only hotel on this list that won the hearts of its guests thanks to its strong Wi-Fi connection.

Aside from minor nuisances such as weak air conditioners and small bathrooms, the hotel has very little to complain about.

Other Hotels Worth Considering

If for some reasons the hotels above do not suit your taste or preferences, you can also consider booking a room at one of the following hotels that I shortlisted for this compilation.

Grand Seasons Hotel

Grand Seasons Hotel is one of the longest hotels serving the area around Putra World Trade Center.

It retains most of the qualities of a good hotel. For example, it sits on a good location near the convention center. Its close proximity to the train stations also means that guests can easily explore the city by taking a KTM Komuter or an LRT train.

Past guests also commended Grand Seasons for its clean rooms, stable Wi-Fi connection, and friendly staffs. Some of its rooms even offer a view of PETRONAS Twin Towers and KL Tower.

The factors behind the hotel’s poor ratings could be due to the fact that the hotel is old and in need of refurbishment. For example, guests complained about broken amenities in its bathroom, old furniture and carpets, as well as broken power plugs.

Worst of all, some guests even highlighted that water coming out from the tap and shower was yellowish during their stay. For many travelers, especially those traveling for the purpose of business, this is not acceptable at all.

Sani Hotel

Overall, Sani Hotel has received a fair amount of positive reviews from its past guests.

They love its location being so close to PWTC Kuala Lumpur and the train stations. Additionally, the hotel is just within walking distance from GM Plaza, a wholesale shopping mall selling textile, luggages, garments, fashion accessories and toys at affordable prices.

Breakfast provided by the hotel received mixed reviews from guests, but this is fairly common for budget hotels. As for the rooms, they are spacious, but the lamps are a little too dim for some. The low water pressure of the shower and poor soundproofing disappointed a small number of travelers who stayed there.

Overall, there is no critical reviews about the hotel. However, its average user rating stands at only 7.3 out of 10, which is the lowest among all the hotels that made this list. On top of that, the rating is only based on 460 reviews. Both of these would make anybody a little cautious about recommending it.

Crossroads Hotel

Crossroads Hotel didn’t make the cut to be the best of the best hotels near PWTC Kuala Lumpur. It’s close proximity to the convention center as well as the train and bus stations, however, make it an option worth considering if you are attending an event held at PWTC.

Guests who stayed at Crossroads Hotel love its clean room, friendly staffs and stable Wi-Fi. Moreover, there are plenty of food stalls and restaurants nearby.

Avoid rooms without a window. Keep this in mind hen you are booking a room here. Guests complained musty smell in these rooms and the fact that the non-smoking room policy is not strictly enforced may make things worse.
